Computationally Designed Form Study

stainless steel, custom software, LEDs

Designed and fabricated by SHO Architects, holo|morph is inspired by Ron Resch's folded origami tessellations and Buckminster Fuller's geodesic designs. SHO designed the structure with the intention of integrating a dynamic lighting system with the folded units. ULR worked closely with SHO to develop a custom LED control system that would allow for realtime control of the generative pattern-making system. This meant that SHO could tweak the general motion and color parameters of the system on site and while it was running.
